On 4 December 2019, NATO’s heads of state and government convened in London, marking the final major event of the Alliance’s 70th anniversary year.
At the ‘NATO Engages’ event on 3 December, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg previewed the meeting’s main themes, including strengthened deterrence and defence, NATO’s work to fight terrorism, and improved burden-sharing across the Alliance.
