Carlos Abellan is a cofounder and CEO of Quside. He graduated as a telecommunications engineer by the UPC (Barcelona) and then carried out his doctoral studies at ICFO, under the supervision of Prof. Valerio Pruneri and Prof. Morgan W. Mitchell. He focused on the development of quantum technologies for secure communications and supercomputation, where he is coinventor of 5+ patent families as well as coauthor of 10+ high-impact publications. Carlos has founded two technology companies to date, attracting early-stage private investment internationally. He has also received a variety of awards, including the MIT Innovators Under 35 Europe 2018, the Pioneer award by the Catalan government or the Ehrenfest best paper award.
